Managing Director
Mr. Morrissett is a veteran of more than 75 investment banking advisory assignments, including public and private sales, buyside transactions, recapitalizations, private placements and strategic advisory assignments across a range of industries. His broad industry experience covers aerospace and defense, consumer products, distribution, food and beverage, metal fabrication and textiles and apparel.
At Edgeview, Mr. Morrissett heads the Defense, Aerospace & Homeland Security practice. He was the lead partner on Edgeview’s sale of Stellex Aerostructures, Inc., to GKN plc, a deal for which Stellex and The Carlyle Group won 2006 Turnaround of the Year honors from Buyouts magazine.
A native of North Carolina, Mr. Morrissett earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While an undergraduate, he studied at London’s City University and the European Business School. Mr. Morrissett holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
While in business school, Mr. Morrissett worked as an intern with the New York-based private equity firm Adler & Shaykin.
He joined Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co. (BHC), one of the nation’s top middle-market investment banking firms, in 1986. There, Mr. Morrissett founded and led the firm’s furnishings, textiles and apparel M&A group and rose to Managing Director.
Following BHC’s 1998 purchase by First Union Corp. (later Wachovia Corp.), Mr. Morrissett served as head of First Union’s consumer products M&A group.
Mr. Morrissett joined Edgeview in 2001 and served as a senior staff member on Erskine Bowles’ campaign for the U.S. Senate.
He presently chairs the board of trustees for Discovery Place Museum, Charlotte’s interactive science museum, where he has served on the board since 2001.
